How long have you been in business?
A Child Is Missing was launched in 1997.
What is your primary product or service?
Assist law enforcement nationwide in the early search and recovery of missing children (Autistic/Down syndrome), elderly (often with Alzheimer's/Dementia), disabled and college kids on campus thru the use of landlines, cellphones and other digital products. One thousand calls per minute go out to the area the missing was last seen and ask the person who receives the call to look outside of their house or complex to see if the missing is around. Then call the police with information. Recoveries have been made in 3 minutes to 60 minutes. Serve over 5,500 departments. Over 1,550 safe assisted recoveries.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
When the computers came out we had two and was in another business. Then I got the idea to search for missing children and the elderly. There was no other organization assisting law enforcement in finding the missing. So we were the first. As founder of ACIM I was previously an owner of an agency in marketing and advertising... with a medical background.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
There were non. We give our program FREE to law enforcement nationwide. By using the Internet you can be available to all areas in a matter of seconds. We have the most experience in this area.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
We have one central location - Fort Lauderdale, Florida. But we have 5,500 departments nationwide we serve. When funding is available we will have 10 locations nationwide.
